I'm making a
Super Tote bag for my sister-in-law and I finished the front pocket, a Harry Potter block, this week. I also got my five kids involved in some charity sewing. We had a lot of fun.

Here's the front of her tote bag. Pretty cool if I do say so myself. I adore paper piecing and found the pattern here - I enlarged it about 250%. |
Our church group decided to make stuffed elephants for charity last year. Well, various things happened and the project stalled. We moved here right as it was picking up again and I volunteered our stuffing services. The kids love stuffing things and it was a lot of fun. |
Even Ruby got involved stuffing. We were using crochet hooks to help push the stuffing into the trucks and Ruby saw and copied, it was pretty cute. |
Here are the other four lending a hand. They were pretty awesome helpers. |
They loved playing with the fiberfill too. It was so funny, we love working and playing together. I'm so glad I thought to involve them. |
My oldest daughter and I worked at sewing them closed. |
Here's the result of our hard work. In one night we stuffed and sewed closed 23 different elephants. Three have already found a new home with a family in need but we have several more to finish before the rest of these find a home. The kids were all so proud of their hard work and even helped pick the three we sent to a family in need. |
So, that's my week. Not much on the quilty front but there will be more this week as I have a few self-imposed deadlines fast approaching. Thanks for stopping by and I'm linking up with
TGIFF and
Finish It Up Friday.
